UMA PROPOSTA DE ENSINO DA SOMA DE RIEMANN PARA O ENSINO MÉDIO PELO OLHAR DO MODELO DE VAN HIELE
Geometric thinking. Van Hiele. Area calculation. Riemann sum. Task
Motivated by discussions on teaching and learning how to calculate areas in high school, this work studies the proposal of using the Riemann sum to calculate the area of an irregular region bounded by curves and presents a strategy for teaching it in high school. The geometric idea that constitutes the Riemann sum implied the choice of Van Hiele’s model of geometric thinking as a theoretical basis for instigating and improving the historical connection involving the calculation of areas and geometry. This research contributes to the teaching of area calculation in two respects: it proposes an adaptation of the learning levels of Van Hiele’s model for the Riemann sum and presents tasks as a resource to be developed in high school.
